The course introduces to the students the various approaches to the study of non-literary texts using the various linguistic models, theories and framework in Stylistics.
Stylistics is often regarded as a linguistic approach to literature; however, recent trends show how it expands to include non-fictional and non-printed forms. The analysis highlights qualitative or quantitative study on the levels of language such as lexical, grammatical, semantic, pragmatic or discourse features of text and cognitive aspects involved in the processing of those features by the reader. Hence, the students shall be able to have in depth understanding stylistics.
